This region’s beloved Clare Valley Gourment Weekend is just around the corner and at Wild Saffron, we’re excited to once again be part of the fun!

We’ve teamed up with Eldredge Vineyards, at their picture-perfect venue near Spring Gully Road, to bring you the tastes of Mexico and South America. We’re exploring smoky and spicy flavours using local pork, beef, chicken and Spencer Gulf seafood. Team our delicious gourmet food with Eldredge’s award-winning wines and entertainment by Danny Hooper and you’ve got a great afternoon covered!

Open between 10 am and 4 pm

By the way, we’re serving cheese platters for dessert and will offer vegetarian options. Hope to see you there!

Have a Freckleberry Easter

Freckleberry’s Easter chocolates have arrived at Wild Saffron. Come in store to stock up on the Freckle Easter bunnies and eggs, not to mention the chocolate-covered freeze-dried strawberries. Yum!

We’re also taking orders for Burra Bakery Hot Cross Buns, ready for pick up on Thursday, March 28 (just before the Easter long weekend) or Easter Saturday. We think they’re the best hot cross buns in the land!

Love Your Sister Cocktail Dinner

Before this year, Samuel Johnson was most commonly recognised for his acting roles in dramas such as The Secret Life of Us, Underbelly II and Rush. Since leaving Federation Square in Melbourne on a unicycle earlier this month, things have changed.

The Australian actor has taken on the challenge to unicycle around Australia to promote “breast awareness” amongst women and raise $1 million for cancer research. Samuel’s extraordinary mission was motivated by the diagnosis of breast cancer in his sister Connie. Connie, a 36 year-old mother of two young boys is terminally ill with breast cancer and has a dying wish to leave a legacy of breast awareness.

To support Samuel and Connie’s fundraising efforts, a cocktail dinner is being held at Wild Saffron on Monday, March 4 at 7 pm. Tickets are $30, with $10 from every ticket going to the Love Your Sister project. Come along to Wild Saffron to hear Samuel’s story and support a great cause.

Take the hassle out of catering for this year’s Day on the Green at Annie’s Lane. Our gourmet picnic hampers will ensure you dine in style without any fuss. Wild Saffron hampers cost $20 per person or $38 for two people and include:

cheese
dips
fruit and nuts
olives
paste
crackers
nougat or a chocolate brownie

More room to move!

Wild Saffron is excited to now offer a new space for customers. The upstairs room at Wild Saffron has been transformed into an area for conferences, business meetings or simply diners looking for a quiet space to eat.

The air-conditioned room caters for a maximum of 30 people and is available to hire out for half-day or full-day conferences. With gourmet food, drinks and coffee on hand, it is the perfect venue for group meetings. An electronic whiteboard will also be installed before the end of February 2013.

Come into Wild Saffron to choose from a great selection of fun, quirky and cute gifts for Christmas. There are plenty of presents for the young and young at heart, including:

The Wild Saffron team was recognised for its hard work and great coffee at the 2012 SA Regional Barista Competition in Port Pirie yesterday.

Wild Saffron owner Heather Pretlove and barista Alli Kocsis travelled north for a ‘barista-off’ and to hear the announcement of several awards…many of which they won!

Alli won both the 2012 Clare Valley Barista of the Year Award and the People’s Choice Award! And to top off a day of triumph, Wild Saffron won the Clare Valley Region Best Café Atmosphere of the Year award.

Congratulations to Alli and thank you to all our valued customers who voted during September and October this year. Time to celebrate…with a coffee!
